The Ashes Barns Wedding
The Ashes Barns, a lovely 20 minute drive away from my front door is a venue I have loved for a very very long time and is a venue I am very lucky to be a recommended supplier of. Because it is such a favourite of mine I thought I'd revisit the gorgeous wedding of Azza & Annie which I shot there last year so you could all see how much of a lovely day it was. Disney fans will certainly like this one.
When Azza & Annie first asked me to meet them for a drink at a local pub and told me their wedding would be held at the Ashes I practically squealed with joy. Travelling all the way from Preston they decided to hold their special day in the beautiful Staffordshire countryside and who could blame them. The Ashes is set in amongst its own farm land with gorgeous views and only a short 10-15 minute drive away from the Staffordshire moors for couples who like to don their walking boots for a bit of an adventure on their day.
A day of character
Avid Disney fans and part time actors both Annie and Azza wanted to make sure there day was fun for all and included as much of their characters as physically possible whilst keeping the day chilled with a sunny vibe. Complete with sunflowers, a princess dress (named Flo), Daisy the Morris Minor, Disney table centrepieces, a rather competitive tug of war and sack race, a surprise guitar performance and some seriously epic dance moves, the day truly had everyone smiling.
Tears & surprises
It also had its fair share of tears from start to finish too, from the moment they both shared their own vows to the moment Azza surprised everyone with a song and guitar solo for his beautiful bride. A new skill he'd learnt in just a few weeks specifically for the big day and something not a single person knew about apart from The Ashes staff and myself. I think it's safe to say everyone including myself just couldn't hide the tears.
Even a year later, this wedding is one I will never forget and will never fail to bring both a smile and a little tear to my eye.
